On the Autumn Budget 2017, David Ullathorne, Chief Executive for Rectory, commented: “As expected homeownership and the housing market featured heavily in yesterday’s budget statement. The Chancellor announced that the overarching plan is to deliver 300,000 new homes per year. With this in mind, we are pleased that the need to support the growth of the small regional housebuilders, like ourselves, has been recognised. The £630 million ‘small sites fund’ promised, is good news for Rectory as it aligns with our own ambitious growth plans over the coming years, delivering more quality homes with a difference, in prime areas across the home counties. We are also delighted that the Government is considering changes to the planning system to speed up the delivery of new homes. The budget has brought good news for first time buyers too, with the stamp duty tax relief on properties under £300,000, opening a new door for those with home ownership aspirations.
