Rectory Homes recently contributed towards the green spaces of Cuddington Village by donating two beautiful native English trees. 

Working together with Cuddington Parish Council, Rectory were able to contribute an Upright Hornbeam, commonly found in ancient woodlands and ornamental gardens across the country. It was chosen by Cuddington Parish Council to take pride of place on the village green where once, a much-loved horse chestnut tree stood. The elderly horse chestnut was felled last year, and since then, the Parish Council and village tree wardens have been looking to replace it with something special to flourish for many years to come. Rectory worked with an award-winning local tree specialist, Majestic Trees, to provide a 25-year-old mature Upright Horbeam, which was planted on 24th March under bright blue skies with its wine-glass shaped splendour and fanning branches.

Rectory’s donation enabled the Parish Council to choose a second tree for the corner of Bernard Close and Dadbrook where an ornamental cherry tree once stood. The Parish Council and tree wardens chose another native tree to the area, an English walnut tree, which provides a welcome addition to the grassey corner and could grow up to 35 metres tall.
